Nvidia, together with Ampere graphics cards, decided to get for bloggers and professionals a new tool for evaluating the performance of these very graphics cards. This is a set of Reviewer Toolkit for Graphics Performance.
This is a set of hardware and software tools designed to help testers measure power and latency with great accuracy. To be more precise, the set contains three tools:
- Latency and Display Analysis Tool (LDAT) – for system delay measurement;
- Power Capture Analysis Tool (PCAT) – for isolated measurement of graphics card power consumption and energy efficiency;
- FrameView 1.1 – new version of software, including processing all data of the tools of the set.
LDAT is a discrete hardware analyzer that uses a brightness sensor to quickly and accurately measure delays in a game or application. This tool is universal and can work with any GPU.
In general, LDAT is clearly designed to showcase the work of Nvidia Reflex technology, which is designed to reduce delays in games, and this will be appreciated by eSports.
As for the availability of all this, FrameView 1.1 application can be downloaded by anyone, but the LDAT and PCAT tools will be available only to selected reviewers and thematic resources. Recall that the RTX 3080 reviews will be published on September 14. Probably, some sites will include in their materials including data obtained through the Reviewer Toolkit for Graphics Performance.
