An interesting video with GeForce RTX 3080 3D card in the title role has appeared on the web. It was filmed on an infrared camera: an eight-minute video clip shows the device heating from typical 34°C in idle mode to the maximum 65°C in maximum load mode.
The video is eight times faster, so all eight minutes of high-load torture fit together. You can see the green radiator first turning yellow, and then red-hot. And although 65°C is a value far from critical heating, you should consider that this is the temperature of the cooler – the temperature of the GPU and the motherboard next to it will be even higher.
Alas, no new details or conditions of the test are reported. It should also be noted that the reference model – GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition – was involved in the test, while partner solutions with modified cooling systems should not heat as much.
