On October 28, AMD company will present video cards of Radeon RX 6000 line. We do not know yet what kind of graphics cards will be presented: perhaps, we will be shown only top models, perhaps, they will announce many new products at once.
Based on early data, we know that we are waiting for the cards on at least three GPUs: Navi 21, Navi 22 and Navi 23. Navi 21 is the same “Big Navi”, which will serve as the basis for the flagship graphics cards, probably with the name RX 6900 or RX 6950.
Today, information about the GPU code-named Navy Flounder has appeared on the Web:
We don’t know if we’re talking about Navi 22 or Navi 23, but there are characteristics. This GPU will get 40 blocks of CU, which is the same amount as the Navi 10, which is the basis of Radeon RX 5700/5700 XT.
In this case, if the internal configuration of the blocks at its base, Navy Flounder will have 2560 stream processors. Taking into account metamorphoses of Ampere architecture, we cannot exclude that there will actually be more stream processors.
The source also claims that the Navy Flounder-based graphics card will receive a 192-bit memory bus, which hints at a fairly affordable device. However, it is likely that the adapter will have 6GB of memory. This may be what the conditional Radeon RX 6500 XT will look like, but for now it’s all speculation and rumor.
