Nvidia Quadro RTX 6000 will feature a unique eight-pin connector

Details of the new generation Quadro RTX 6000 professional graphics gas pedal are beginning to appear on the Web. This is the top solution of the new generation, which will receive the GPU GA102 in its full configuration. In this case, unlike the novelties Ampere and RTX 3090 in particular, the Quadro RTX 6000 will not receive GDDR6X memory.

The fact that such an adapter needs the maximum amount of memory, and GDDR6X technology is currently limited to 1 GB per chip. So, Quadro RTX 6000 will be equipped with 48 GB of GDDR6 memory.

Another curious point is the power connector. You might think that Nvidia will equip all its new products with a new 12-pin connector, but no. In the first picture you can see that the Quadro RTX 6000 has received an eight-pin connector, but this is not a connector we are used to on graphics cards for many years. But it’s not new either. It’s the same EPS-12V connector used on motherboards, which can transmit up to 235W of power. Why Nvidia chose this solution is still unknown.
