A few days after the first reports, when the entire Network was already filled with news related to problems with GeForce RTX 3080 graphics cards, Nvidia finally commented on the situation. However, the comment turned out to be “no comment”.

As for third-party boards, our partners regularly develop their designs, and we work closely with them in this process. The corresponding number of SP-CAP and MLCC capacitor groups may vary depending on the design and is not necessarily a quality indicator.

That is, formally Nvidia has not recognized the problem and its direct connection to the capacitor group behind the GPU, although it has already been officially recognized by many video card manufacturers, directly stating that when using six SP-CAP capacitors, video cards have problems. Given that earlier Nvidia roughly the same without specifics “explained” the situation with an incredible deficit of RTX 3080, otherwise could not be expected.

By the way, the fresh GeForce Game Ready 456.55 WHQL driver solves the problem without any capacitor replacement – by reducing the GPU peak frequencies. And this suggests that in fact Nvidia recognized the problem, just does not want to talk about it officially.
