The built-in Iris Xe graphics, of which Intel is so proud, have a lot of problems with the games

Preliminary test results of Intel Tiger Lake processors, in particular their graphic component, showed that, firstly, the Xe GPU is much faster than its predecessors and, secondly, it is on par with discrete entry-level GPUs like the GeForce MX350. But in fact, it turned out that the built-in graphics Intel Xe big problems with games.

The well-known resource, which is engaged in testing of notebooks, managed to get at its disposal “laptop, which will soon be released” with the CPU Tiger Lake and GPU Iris Xe G7. And in games, you might say, he failed. And we are not talking about low frame rate: unloading textures, color “anomalies” and just banal departures (when changing the graphics settings or just trying to load the level or previous saving) – this is what the laptop was able to demonstrate. Problems were detected in games such as Division 2, Doom Eternal, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Horizon Zero Dawn, Hunt Showdown and Apex Legends.

Testers note that the problem is likely to be in the drivers, so in production laptops it is likely to be resolved – if not completely, then at least partially. But at this stage discrete Nvidia GPUs even at a basic level look preferable at least due to better drivers optimization, not to mention the increased performance of GeForce MX450 relative to the MX350.
