In August 2016, the Xiaomi company introduced the first generation of robot vacuum cleaner Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum. The production of this and subsequent models is supported by Xiaomi company Roborock. Roborock was founded in 2014, it develops and sells intelligent home appliances. Xiaomi owns about 24.7% in Roborock.
Now Roborock has officially announced that it has completed the research and development phase for its commercial robot tamer, which is in the testing phase.
Xiaomi Roborock commercial robot vacuum cleaners are designed for malls, large supermarkets, office buildings, airports and other large premises. The company expects the demand for commercial robotic vacuum cleaners to increase as labor costs increase.
The company plans to produce commercial vacuum cleaners based on pre-orders, and Roborock has two major OEMs that will handle orders: Xinwangda and Dongguan Great Wall.
Earlier this year, in February, Roborock made its first public offering and raised about $640 million. The company said it will use these funds to develop next-generation robotic janitors and a data analysis platform.
