HMD Global made a rather strange “announcement” – first announced a plan to update Nokia smartphones, and then removed it from the public domain.
The message was published on the official page of Nokia Mobile in the social network Twitter. As it usually happens, it is quite difficult to finally delete something on the Internet – the screenshot managed to fly around the network.
If you believe the information on the screenshot, HMD plans to update to Android 11 all smartphones, which came out immediately with installed Android 9 Pie or Android 10:
- In the 4th quarter of 2020, the update will receive users of Nokia 8.3 5G, Nokia 8.1, Nokia 5.3 and Nokia 2.2;
- In the 1st quarter of 2021 – Nokia 4.2, Nokia 3.4, Nokia 2.4 and Nokia 2.3, as well as Nokia 1.3;
- In the 1st or 2nd quarter of 2021, Nokia 7.2, Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 3.2;
In the 2nd quarter of 2021, Nokia 9 Pureview and Nokia 1 Plus.
The oldest smartphone in this list is the Nokia 8.1, which debuted at the end of 2018 and became the first phone of the company with Android Pie right “out of the box”. Without the update will remain many interesting models, including the flagship Nokia 8 Sirocco and cheap Nokia 1.
