It looks like MIUI 12 will no longer be updated. Xiaomi has announced the completion of the shell distribution

As we have already written, Chinese company Xiaomi has already started the third phase of distribution of the branded MIUI 12 shell for its smartphones and models under the brands Redmi and Poco. Now it is known when the epic will come to an end and this important update will receive all the remaining smartphones.

New details became known through a dialogue between one of the users with the Xiaomi support team in the UK. In response to a question about the release of MIUI 12 for the global version of Redmi 9, a representative of the company named Ben said the following: “The distribution of MIUI 12 started in July and will continue until the end of October”.

He also advised to be patient and wait for the update to appear on the device. The user showed perseverance and the representative specified that since Redmi 9 is a new device, there is a high probability that it will receive the MIUI 12 shell and then stressed: “By the end of October, it is most likely that all Xiaomi devices that can support MIUI 12 will receive it”.

It should be noted that despite the launch of the third phase, there are several popular models whose fate is still unclear. Among them are Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8T, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 9S and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, Poco M2 Pro, and Redmi Note 7.
