Google began distributing an updated version of the branded Gboard for Android TV. The update is distributed in stages on the server side, that is, the installation of the latest version does not guarantee the receipt of a new keyboard.
If before the Gboard keyboard occupied the entire width of the display, the new design of the on-screen keyboard has become more compact and takes up all the space. However, the first users who have tried the new keyboard report that in some applications it is stretched to the full width. But these are probably the remaining bugs.
Another change concerns the appearance of the voice dial key in all applications. Previously, users were directly dependent on the developers of applications that could or could not add voice dialing support. Now voice dialing is available by default in all applications.
It is worth noting that the developers of many popular applications, including Netflix, Amazon and YouTube, use their own keyboards for text input. Google Gboard application more than two years ago overcame the mark of 1 billion downloads from Google Play.
