Apple has made many changes to its mobile platform interface since iOS was launched 14 weeks ago. However, users did not like all of them.
Problems with “inconsistent” changes in the interface and not in those places where the authoritative resource ZDNet paid attention. The source even compares this stage of iOS 14 development with Windows, where similar problems are observed. New and old interfaces are mixed up in the system – here you are using a new interface, but a couple of clicks later you come across old interface elements.
One example is the new time entry system with a small window instead of the old scroll wheels. Of course, the ability to enter time from the keyboard is convenient, but it does not have to be small and uncomfortable for touch input.
Another area of mixing new and old is seen in the settings application, reminiscent of the situation with the gradual removal of Windows “Control Panel”. As a result, it became difficult to find some settings.
For example, the “Picture-in-picture” function is hidden in the “General” settings subsection, while the home screen, brightness setting and wallpaper are simply in the main settings directory. The modem mode (Personal Hotspot) also has its own personal line in the main settings, but you can also find it in the “Cellular communication” section. Pages with settings are also poorly organized. And the more applications the user installs, the more confusing things get.
