Xiaomi may change the strategy of updating phones to Android 11

Chinese company Xiaomi has a quite logical tradition – the first updates get Chinese users of its smartphones. Nevertheless, the situation may change radically already with the development of firmware based on Android 11.

This was reported by the thematic resource PiunikaWeb. At the release of the Android 10 Chinese models were in priority, and the users of the global models received an update later. Moreover, the global models, which do not have direct analogues for China, receive updates with great delay, which, of course, does not please users. For example, Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 9S and Redmi Note 8T have not yet received MIUI 12.

The upcoming changes became known in the official Mi Community. One user asked why MIUI 12 is not yet available in Redmi Note 9 Pro. On what the moderator said, that in the case of the Android 11 everything can be different and the Chinese firmware will not come out first. There is a chance that international users will start receiving the Android 11 before the Chinese, at least for some models of smartphones.
