After the announcement of the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G, Samsung announced that its special and limited edition – Thom Browne Edition – will be released only 5000 copies. Given the rather high cost of the smartphone, equal to $3300, one could think that there would be no special excitement. However, judging by the latest data, there is also a lot of excitement.
According to the source, about 230 thousand people in South Korea have applied to buy the Galaxy Z Fold2 Thom Browne Edition. And this despite the fact that the quota for the country (special version will be sold in only seven countries, and South Korea is one of them) – about 1000 smartphones. Who gets the device – a lottery in the literal sense of the word: the lucky ones will be chosen at random. The company promises to start supplying smartphones at the end of year.
Recall that the Galaxy Z Fold2 Thom Browne Edition is not just a smartphone, but a whole set of phones, smart watches Galaxy Watch 3 and wireless headphones Galaxy Buds Live in the same design.
It should be noted that the usual version of the smartphone (it is already cheaper – $2000) may be more popular than originally planned: rumors suggest that Samsung increased the production of these smartphones from 500 thousand to 700-800 thousand.
