Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra – one of the most expensive flagships in 2020. In the U.S. for it is asked 1300 or 1450 dollars (excluding taxes).
How much does it cost Samsung to produce such a device? Counterpoint experts have calculated that the cost of smartphone components is 468 dollars, and the cost, taking into account the assembly and testing, packaging, accessories and other – 548.9 dollars. Thus, on each sold Galaxy Note20 Ultra manufacturer earns more than 750 dollars!
Needless to say, these calculations do not take into account R&D, development, logistics, marketing and other costs, but they are considered differently. It should also be noted that this is an estimate of the modification with SoC Snapdragon 865+. The version with Exynos 990 may be slightly cheaper.
The most expensive components of a smartphone are the platform including antennas (the total price is $154.2) and the screen ($91.5).
It is also interesting to look at the diagram showing the degree of “localization” – 50% of all components produced by Samsung itself, and in the case of the version with Exynos 990 indicator will be even higher.
