Huawei patented smartphone design with screen flowing to the back panel

Huawei is actively experimenting with the form factor of new smartphones. The Chinese manufacturer has already introduced to the market Huawei Mate X and Mate Xs smartphones, which are equipped with folding screens. Now it has become known that Huawei is working on a smartphone with a belt screen in the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha style, the images of which were found in a registered company patent.

In mid-March 2020, Huawei Technologies filed a patent with the National Intellectual Property Office of China, and the relevant documentation became available only today. The screen encircles one part of the smartphone and covers about 60-70% of the back panel area.

In the upper left corner of the rear panel there is a vertical camera, which includes three image sensors and two LEDs for flash. There is no front camera in the image, but you do not need a front camera with this screen. The rear part of the display can be used as a viewfinder for creating selfies.

It is not yet known whether this smartphone will get to the shelves of stores or whether it will remain just an interesting concept.
