At the dawn of the era of modern smartphones manufacturers were not afraid to experiment, as before, and produced sometimes very unusual devices. One of them was the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play – a smartphone, which without any convention could be called a gaming device, as it was a hybrid of a cell phone and a portable game console.
Unfortunately, despite the uniqueness, pre-installed emulator of the first PlayStation and in general not bad consumer qualities, the smartphone did not become popular. In fact, it was expected, as in those days of games for Android was times less, and full-fledged portable set-top boxes are not extinct yet.
Probably for this reason, Xperia Play 2 never saw the light of day. But now we can look at the photos of his prototype.
You can see that the smartphone is made in a completely different design, but this design echoes well with the appearance of Sony Ericsson 2011-2012.
Of course, it may be a fake, but it looks like the prototype is real.
Unfortunately, it is unlikely that Sony will ever release something like this, especially given that without such unusual devices, the mobile unit of the Japanese giant is not doing well.
