Asus ROG Phone 3 got new firmware and “bypass charging”

Gaming smartphone Asus ROG Phone 3 is very popular among the younger generation, as it received the most advanced features, including a screen with an image refresh rate of 144 Hz, the flagship single crystal system Snapdragon 865+, a large battery capacity of 6000 mAh and more.

However, immediately after the release, users were faced with errors that could prevent the device from charging, the screen turned on itself, and so on. Now Asus has started distributing a new update for ROG Phone 3, version number 17.0823.2008.70, which contains bug fixes and new interesting features.

The update fixes the problem with unstable display brightness after locking and unlocking the device, as well as with unstable mobile network connection. Bypass Charging feature attracted special attention of users. The developers describe the principle of the function very clearly: you can turn it on while playing a game or watching a movie, connect your smartphone to the charger, and then the power will be supplied to the device, but the battery will not charge.

This feature helps prevent the system’s battery from draining heavily during gaming, but also avoids recharging the battery, which in some cases can cause additional heat.
