2020 was a very difficult year for the smartphone industry and many other industries. All governments have taken strict measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Because of this, many exhibitions and press conferences have been canceled and were held online.
The largest exhibition Mobile World Congress, which is held in February every year for over 30 years, was also canceled due to coronavirus. Many companies had to hold their own events to present their new devices.
GSMA, which is the organizer of the event, announced that next year the Mobile World Congress 2021 exhibition will be moved from February to March, and then to mid-summer. The exhibition is scheduled to be held in Barcelona from June 28 to July 1.
According to John Hoffman, CEO of GSMA, the Mobile World Congress brings together the entire industry. He said partners and customers will remain committed to making the conference in Barcelona a huge success next year.
After a year without the Mobile World Congress, all of its fans need the event to remind us why it exists.
