It seems that the OnePlus company intends to continue to position the released this spring OnePlus 8 Pro smartphone as the only full-fledged flagship even after the release of another flagship smartphone OnePlus 8T.
Earlier, the CEO of OnePlus Pete Lau confirmed that this year the Pro version of the flagship will not be. He added that OnePlus 8T already turned out to be a great smartphone, it was impossible to make it even better, so the release of OnePlus 8T Pro just makes no sense.
However, now it turns out that the manufacturer uses an outdated image sensor Sony IMX586 in the autumn flagship smartphone. Such a sensor is used in OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7T Pro, OnePlus 8 and even OnePlus Nord.
In this case, the previously released OnePlus 8 Pro uses a modern image sensor Sony IMX689. Information on whether the result will appear on the market OnePlus 8T Pro, so far, no, but this year it certainly will not happen. In any case, the OnePlus will have to explain to fans for such a decision. It seems that the manufacturer has just changed its strategy and decided to time the OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 8T Pro releases so that they don’t interfere with each other in the market.
The presentation of OnePlus 8T is expected on October 14.
