Tencent gave employees expensive Huawei Mate Xs, but many immediately put them up for sale

Not long ago, Tencent announced the reorganization of its structure by creating a division of Tencent PCG (Platform and Content Business Group), which combined parts of Internet Media Business Group, Mobile Internet Business Group and Social Network Business Group. The new division specializes in the development of the Internet platform, as well as the implementation of various projects in social networks and other segments.

In honor of the Platform and Content Business Group’s two-year anniversary, Tencent presented 10,000 employees with Huawei Mate Xs cell phones equipped with bendable screens. In China, the smartphone is offered for about $2,500 in 8GB RAM and 512GB of flash memory. At the same time, Huawei claims that the company still loses money on every device sold.

In July this year, the Huihuibao Mobile Phone Price Research Institute published the “Mobile Phone Price Index for the first half of 2020”. It was noted in the article that Huawei Mate Xs has become the most expensive smartphones, being ahead of the iPhone and other competitors.

However, not all employees of Tencent have decided to keep a memorable gift. Yesterday evening on specialized sites there were a large number of proposals for the sale of Huawei Mate Xs, and many sellers directly indicated that these are versions that were given by Tencent. In some cases, the price reaches 3000 dollars.
