During the announcement of the smartphone Google Pixel 5, few people noticed that the body of the smartphone is made of aluminum alloy, and it supports wireless charging, including reverse wireless charging. Most smartphones that support wireless charging are equipped with a glass back panel. Media representatives asked Google for comments on the aluminum case and wireless charging Google Pixel 5. Why did Google not use a protective glass on the back panel? Firstly, in order to make the smartphone cheaper, because of which it also lost the functions that were in last year’s Google Pixel. And secondly, the aluminum frame and the biosilicon coating allowed to preserve a relatively thin profile of the device, while using a battery with a capacity of 4080 mA-h.

According to various media reports, this year Google plans to ship only 800,000 Pixel 5 phones. Moreover, the total volume of shipments of Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 throughout the year will be about 3 million smartphones.
