Apple, like other smartphone market leaders, is working on bending phones, however, unlike Samsung and Huawei, the company from Cupertino has not yet introduced such a model.
According to AppleInsider, based on the Apple patent, the upcoming folding iPhone can have a self-healing display, which will remove small scuffs and scratches from the surface of the screen. The first folding iPhone smartphone can be launched next year.
A patent called “Electronic devices with flexible display cover layers” describes methods for minimizing damage and possible actions when damages occur. Documentation involves mixing rigid and flexible areas of the display and using the self-recovery function. However, it is not yet clear how this process will work.
Earlier it was reported that Apple has already ordered a large batch of flexible screens from Samsung Display, which it plans to test for at least a year.
Sources suggest that the first bending smartphone iPhone may be launched next year. Meanwhile, the company is preparing for the presentation of the iPhone 12, the older model of which has already shown a large Chinese store Tmall.
It is expected that the announcement of smartphones iPhone will be held on October 13, and pre-orders will begin to take on the 16th.
