Market research agency Visual Captalist has published the results of the research, which showed which companies were leading in the smartphone market in the second quarter of this year.
Samsung and Huawei shared the first position, gaining 20% each. Apple ranks third with a 14% market share. Xiaomi (10%), Oppo (9%), Vivo (8%) and Lenovo (3%) held fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh positions.
In addition, Visual Captalist shows that Chinese smartphone brands account for over 50% of the market. If we look at the mobile operating system market, Android has 74%, while iOS accounts for 25%. These two systems account for 99% of the market.
As for the processor market, Qualcomm takes first place with 29%, while MediaTek catches up with 26%. HiSilicon, which is slowly leaving the market, ranks third with a 16% market share. Apple Bionic and Samsung Exynos came in at 13% each.
In the wireless headset segment, Apple is leading with a 35% lead. Xiaomi is second with a 10% market share, while Samsung is third with a 6% market share. Apple, Huawei and Samsung ranked first three in global smart watch shipments with 30%, 14% and 7% market share respectively.
