Xiaomi recently added to its Mi TV Master Series line with two 82-inch models. The base received a 4K IPS matrix, but the second uses a Mini LED panel 8K resolution!
But let’s start with the “base” 82-inch TV. It uses a 120 Hz frame rate sensor and has an HDMI 2.1 port. Also supported features and technologies include HDR, Dolby Atmos, MIUI for TV 3.0 and Xiao Ai 3.0 voice assistant.
The older model is more interesting. It uses a Mini LED sensor with 8K resolution and 60 Hz frame rate. A high-performance quad-core chip (which is not clear yet, but most likely some SoC MediaTek) can not only process images with such parameters, but also scale the video to a higher resolution.
The older model also supports Dolby Atmos, but the sound subsystem is much more serious here. It consists of eight components and has its own designation – “Wings of Sound”. The developers assure that it is equivalent to two soundbars in efficiency.
Mi TV Master Series 82 Ultra received 4GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in flash memory, built-in 5G modem, wired Gigabit Ethernet port, USB 3.0 port and HDMI 2.1 video input. Needless to say, Xiaomi claims the Mi TV Master Series 82 Ultra is fully compatible with next generation gaming consoles.
The novelties will come on sale at different times. Mi TV Master Series 82 can be purchased in China from today, for it is asked $ 1460. But the top Mi TV Master Series 82 Ultra will appear on sale only on October 21. Its price is $7335 at the current yuan rate.
