According to sources, the concern Volkswagen AG is considering selling the company Bugatti to Rimac. Recall that Rimac is a Croatian car manufacturer specializing in electric hypercars.
But the deal does not mean just a sale. Bugatti will be sold to Rimac in exchange for a large share in the latter. That is, Volkswagen AG, or to be more precise, Porsche as part of Volkswagen AG, will own a large share of Rimac, which will include Bugatti. The management of the German car giant allegedly already approved the deal, but it has not yet been signed by the supervisory board.
Given the parties to the deal, we can assume that the next hypercar Bugatti may already be electric. For the young Rimac it is a potentially extremely important deal, as in her hands falls a very famous brand with a huge history, and Volkswagen will mostly get rid of the “hobby brand” – the so-called Bugatti as part of the German giant, as Bugatti was acquired in 1998, when at the head of Volkswagen was Ferdinand Piëch (Ferdinand Piëch), who loved Bugatti.
