Volkswagen has published detailed specifications of the ID.4 electric car, which is designed for the USA and Europe. This is the company’s first crossover on all-electric traction.
Volkswagen ID.4 is built on a modular platform MEV, which he borrowed from an electric hatchback ID.3. Crossover received a streamlined body with good aerodynamic characteristics. Its length is 4585 mm, wheelbase is 2765 mm, and ground clearance is 210 mm.
Almost all functions of the electric car are controlled by touch zones, gestures and voice commands. Senior versions are available with 21-inch rims, matrix head optics, adaptive cruise control systems, lane hold, and automatic braking.
The younger version received a 5.3-inch digital dashboard, and the older one has a 12-inch touchscreen and voice control support. At the initial stage will be released version with rear drive and one electric motor 204 hp. Battery capacity of 82 kWh should provide a power reserve of about 400 km. With a quick charge, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80% in 40 minutes.
Later all-wheel drive twin-engine versions with a power reserve of about 500 km will be released. Up to 100 km/h crossover accelerates in 8.5 seconds, and its declared maximum speed is 160 km/h.
The price of the electric car will start from 40 thousand dollars.
