American Kazi Imam shared his impressions about using Tesla Model 3. He bought his Long Range electric car in 2018, and now, when the mileage was 100,000 miles (or 160,000 km), he summed it up.
“I was struck by the small cost of car maintenance. The total cost of electricity was $2985. The total cost of maintenance was $1741.11. Thus, the total cost of ownership was $4732.11”.
As you can see, Kazi Imam is very pleased with the purchase.
The user provides a full list of expenses on repairs, but the largest contribution to $1741.11 was made by tires – their cost was $1200. The air filter and wipers were also replaced. In general, this example once again proves that the electric car has nothing to serve. And all the troubles, such as a shriveled headrest or squeaking window, were removed under warranty and without questions.
The degradation of the battery during these two years was only 5%. At the same time, the user notes a large number of charge/discharge cycles during this time, still 160 000 km in 2 years still need to run. With less intensive use of an electric car, such degradation of the traction battery will occur in 5-6 years.
