Electric scooter with a power reserve of 85 km, IPX7 and cruise control from Segway

Last December, Xiaomi and Ninebot unveiled the first electric bike series that included the Ninebot C40, C60 and C80. Now Segway has introduced an improved scooter at Indiegogo with a top speed of 32 km/h and a range of 85 km.

The model was named Segway eMoped C80, and the starting price is 1900 dollars. The scooter will be available in two colors, the plastic parts are durable and practically not scratched. It is possible to start with a smartphone or NFC tag.

To the left and right of the steering wheel there is a light ring with three different color codes. Yellow, red and green colors indicate different condition of the electric scooter. The ring blinks yellow when the scooter is in standby mode. It burns green during movement, and red colors indicate a malfunction. There is also a dashboard in the middle that shows the speed and battery charge level.

On the left side is the sound control button and on the right side is the start button, the fixed speed button (cruise control) and the battery cover opening button.

Weight of the scooter is less than 50 kg, it can be equipped with separate seats for infants and children, and has a central two-stage shock absorber. For braking, the Segway eMoped C80 uses a front disc brake system and a rear drum brake system. The housing is IPX7 rated, which means it’s not afraid of puddles and rain.

The 1152Wh Li-ion battery allows you to drive up to 85 km without recharging. The replacement battery weighs less than 6 kg.

Deliveries of this electric scooters will begin in November 2020.
