Segway’s first electric scooter goes on record

This week, Segway introduced the Indiegogo Segway eMoped C80, which the company itself calls “the first Segway electric scooter. It should be noted that Segway is a division of Ninebot, which already has several models of scooters in its portfolio, but purely under the brand Segway such products have not been previously released.

The developers were happy to report that the high price of $1,900 did not scare away the customers, the amount of $150,000 was overcome in the first 12 hours. And at the time of publishing the note the amount almost reached the mark of 300 thousand dollars. At this rate, when there is still a whole month to go, Segway eMoped C80 may well set a record for Indiegogo, at least in its category.

Recall that the device has received a lithium-ion battery capacity of 1152 Wh, which allows you to travel up to 85 km without recharging, with a scooter mass of less than 50 kg, and the maximum speed of 32 km / h. The weight of the removable battery is less than 6 kg. There is an LED indicator on the steering wheel, which flashes yellow when the scooter is in standby mode, lights green while driving, and if a malfunction is detected, the red light will light up.

The scooter can be started with a smartphone or NFC tag, as well as a very interesting fixed speed mode or cruise control system that allows you to move at a given speed. The case corresponds to the IPX7 protection degree, i.e. it is not afraid of puddles and rain.
