It’s no secret that the performance of AMD Ryzen processors depends largely on the memory frequency to which the Infinity Fabric bus speed is bound. It is quite expected that AMD engineers managed to further optimize the memory controller in Ryzen 5000 (Vermeer) processors. According to the extinct slide, it will be possible to achieve maximum performance of Zen 3 chips when RAM is running at the effective frequency of 4000 MHz. As Advanced Micro Devices underlines: “DDR4-4000 for Ryzen 5000 series is what DDR4-3800 was for Ryzen 3000 series”.
The release of AMD Ryzen 5000 processors is scheduled for November 2020. Four models with the number of Zen 3 cores from 6 to 16 units will arrive on the shelves. It will be possible to use the CPU with motherboards on AMD 500-series chipsets by updating UEFI, and in early 2021 the corresponding firmware will be available for B450/X470 products.
