Snapdragon 875 and Exynos 1000 chips are very similar. They have the same number of Cortex cores

As part of the TechDay 2020 event, this spring ARM announced the Cortex-A78 and Cortex-X1 processor cores as well as new graphics processors. The developers claim that the Cortex-A78 kernel has the most significant performance gain in the company’s history. In comparison with the Cortex-A77 the new kernel is 20% faster. And the ARM Cortex-X1 will be 30% faster than the Cortex-A77.

Various sources claim that the Cortex-X1 kernel will be used in the next flagship single crystal systems Exynos and Snapdragon. It is safe to assume that one of the first devices to enter the market with the Cortex-X1 kernel will be the Samsung Galaxy S21 line.

It is also confirmed that both future chipset (presumably, Exynos 1000 and Snapdragon 875) will have the same configuration of cores (1 + 3 + 4). That is, in addition to one Cortex-X1 core, they will use three fast Cortex-A78 cores and four energy efficient Cortex-A55.

As the first tests showed, the new Exynos platform is not only as good as the Snapdragon 875, but also superior to it, at least in synthetic tests.
