Intel processors also sometimes get cheaper. But Core i9-9900K even for 360 dollars is a controversial choice

In a few days AMD will present new Ryzen 5000 desktop processors. And although there are rumors on the web that the current generation will not get cheaper after that, it is difficult to believe it, because the new generation will contain the same number of cores, and this means that the pricing policy as a whole will remain. And under such conditions, the old models must either leave the market or become cheaper.

As it turned out, not only AMD processors are able to make it cheaper. Our colleagues from Tom’s Hardware resource have analyzed price changes for some Intel CPUs of the past generation.

In particular, it turned out that the last flagship – Core i9-9900K – for the year fell in price from 580 to 360 dollars, and Core i7-9700K – from 410 to 290 dollars. Of course, such prices are not everywhere, but the source relied on the data from CamelCamelCamel.

What is interesting, even at such prices, it is impossible to say that the Core i9-9900K or Core i7-9700K is a good option for your money. If you buy a new PC, it’s better to choose either the LGA 1200 platform or look towards AMD solutions. But Core i9-9900K and Core i7-9700K can interest the owners of LGA 1151 platform with significantly slower CPU.
