SafeBettingSites.com, which recently reported that mobile game downloads exceeded 28 billion in the first half of 2020, reported on the gaming PC situation. According to the published forecast, sales of gaming PCs in 2020 will reach 39.2 billion dollars.
For comparison: according to Jon Peddie Research, in 2015 the world market of gaming PCs was 24.6 billion dollars, that is, the growth for five years exceeded 60%. Of course, the COVID-19 crisis has particularly stimulated demand lately, but strong growth has been seen before: for example, in 2016 sales were $30.2 billion, an increase of 23% compared to 2015.
At the same time, the segment of high-performance gaming systems not only remains the largest, but also increases. If in 2015 it made 45 % of the market, and gaming PCs of middle and initial level occupied 30 % and 25 % of the market accordingly, this year the share of high-performance gaming systems will reach 47 %, and systems of middle level – 34 %.
Obviously, the share of entry-level PCs is decreasing. This year 7.3 billion dollars will be spent on them. By the way, if you look at the same data from a different angle, it turns out that the largest increase in revenue – by 76% in the period from 2015 to 2020 – is recorded in the segment of medium level PC. In the segment of high-end gaming computers, the revenue growth for this period was 72%.
