Huawei announced two laptops at her developer conference: MateBook X and MateBook 14. Both devices were first introduced in China, but now they debut worldwide, starting with Europe. In this article, we are talking about MateBook X.
Huawei MateBook X offers an almost frameless 13-inch touch screen display of 3000 x 2000 pixels with 100% sRGB color coverage and 400 cd/m2 brightness. The keyboard offers 1.3mm key stroke and full backlighting, and the notebook’s trackpad is 26% larger than on the old MateBook X.
The speakers are hidden under the Shift keys on both sides. In Huawei’s typical style, the webcam was hidden in the top row of the keyboard. The front panel has two microphones for video calls. The thickness of the device is 13.6 mm with a weight of only 1 kg. The device has two USB-C connectors, both with rechargeable connectors and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Huawei MateBook X has a 42Wh battery, which provides 9 hours of FullHD video playback without recharging. The notebook is powered by a 65W USB-C adapter.
It comes with 10th generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processors and 16GB of RAM. The laptop has no fans, it is the first mobile computer Huawei with support for Wi-Fi 6. Like other MateBooks, it can be used as a second screen for Huawei or Honor smartphones with EMUI 10.
Huawei MateBook X will come with Windows 10 Home in four colors – silver, green, blue and pink – from November 2020. The model with the Core i5 processor will cost 1599 euros, and the Core i7 will increase the price to 1799 euros.
