Google has extended the period of free use of Google Meet video conferencing service without restrictions.
Initially Google planned to implement a 60-minute limit on the duration of video conferences for the free version of Google Meet from September 30. However, now the company has announced an extension until March 31, 2021. However, it is worth noting – a free “limitless” is saved for users of Gmail accounts.
Google launched Google Meet for all users in spring 2020. At that time, the service was considered as one of the best alternatives to the super-popular Zoom. In fact, unlimited calls have a limit on duration – 24 hours.
In addition, conditionally unlimited video conferences (duration up to 300 hours) will remain the property of users of paid packages G Suite and G Suite for Education.
