Corsair has announced a series of ATX-sized computer cases for “true enthusiasts”. The Corsair 4000 Series includes three models: 4000D, 4000D AIRFLOW and iCUE 4000X RGB. For the models in this series, a new notation scheme is used for the first time, where the series number defines the form factor and basic features of the case, and a special identifier indicates the unique features of each model, which should help customers make the right choice.
For example, the 4000D case has a minimalist style, the 4000D AIRFLOW has improved airflow, and the iCUE 4000X RGB features additional tempered glass and RGB illumination. Common features of all three models are the new RapidRoute cable management system and new fans that use Corsair AirGuide airflow focusing technology.
The 4000D and 4000D AIRFLOW enclosures come with two AirGuide 120mm fans, while the iCUE 4000X RGB model comes with three SP RGB ELITE AirGuide 120mm full color LED backlit fans and an iCUE Lighting Node CORE controller.
The steel front panel of the 4000D is equipped with ventilation ducts at the sides. In case of 4000D AIRFLOW, the panel is made in the form of a grid with triangular cells. Finally, the iCUE 4000X RGB case has a tempered glass front panel behind which backlit fans can be clearly seen. The side panel is made of tempered glass in all cases.
The layout and capacity of the case do not differ. In the case sizes 453 x 230 x 466 mm there are seven horizontal expansion slots and two vertical. The maximum allowed length of expansion cards is 360 mm, the height of the processor cooling system – 170 mm. The case is designed to accommodate two 3.5-inch drives and two 2.5-inch drives.
Note that it is possible to accommodate six 120 mm fans or four 280 mm fans. When using fluidized bedding, a radiator up to 360 mm in the front and 280 mm in the top may be marked. There is a Type-C USB connector on the I/O panel.
Corsair 4000 Series PC tower cases are available in black and white.
