New Splinter Cell and Assassin’s Creed became Oculus exclusives

Ubisoft is actively mastering virtual reality by introducing two new games from the famous Splinter Cell and Assassin’s Creed universes. The announcement confirms previous rumors that Ubisoft is working with Facebook to create two new games.

The games are created for Oculus virtual reality headsets (Rift, Quest and Quest 2, which became known only this week). It’s not clear yet whether these will be AAA-class projects like Half-Life: Alyx or simpler games.

The Ubisoft Red Storm Entertainment studio leads the development of both projects. The team’s portfolio includes such VR games as Star Trek: Bridge Crew and Werewolves Within. According to a long established policy for Ubisoft, other studios within the company also help in development. We are talking about Ubisoft Dusseldorf, Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Reflections.

We are always exploring new ways to use technologies that help us create an unforgettable gaming experience. The latest Oculus equipment will allow us to revive the worlds of Assassin’s Creed and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell for fans in a new way. These games will take full advantage of Oculus technology to offer an experience that players can’t find anywhere else. (Elizabeth Loverso, Vice President of Product Development at Red Storm).

Recall that recently were presented new parts of God of War and Final Fantasy XVI, a game for fans of Harry Potter, and announced that some former exclusive PlayStation 5 will also be released on PlayStation 4.
